Advice

One of the first pieces of advice I would give Baruch is to improve the way they are leveraging the new media they already have in place. Part of new media is not only the implementation but the development of strategic and effective use of it. For example, the library has it's own twitter page, but few students actually know about it. However, if utilized more effectively it could be a great resource, particularly when they do things like tweet out calculator rental availability or study room vacancies during midterms & finals. They could also be utilizing the Baruch phone app more effectively since, like twitter, many students aren't even aware of it. The school could increase engagement by including more interactive features to the app, such as creating a school wide album where students could upload photos and videos of themselves on campus or creating polls that students could vote in.

In terms of possibilities for the development of unexplored new media; as Baruch expands it's repertoire of online and hybrid classes, they could also make use of virtual worlds to make the online classroom experience more engaging.
